1. Swipe Up to Enter Fullscreen Mode
The first feature of the YouTube updates this time is the Swipe Up feature to enter full screen mode. If you are watching a YouTube video in portrait mode like this, you can immediately Swipe Up in the video section and enter full screen mode. And you can use this setting immediately even though you don’t activate the auto rotate feature on your smartphone.
So, before this feature existed you had to first tap on the video section then click on this icon to go to full screen mode. However, after this update, you can immediately enter full screen mode with just Swipe Up in the video section. This feature is certainly quite easy and maybe for those who don’t know, you can immediately take advantage of it when you are watching a YouTube video.
2. Swipe Down to Exit Fullscreen Mode
To exit full screen mode, you can Swipe Down when you are in full screen mode. You can immediately Swipe Down like this and will immediately return to the previous portrait mode. So, with the addition of these two new features you can immediately enter full screen mode and exit full screen mode more easily. You just have to Swipe Up to enter full screen mode and Swipe Down to exit full screen mode.
3. Timestamps on Video
Then the next new feature in the latest YouTube application update is the Timestamps feature. If you pay attention to some of the latest videos on our channel, there is a Timestamps feature that we have added. For example, you can see that at the bottom of the video we have added Timestamps for some new videos. So, you can now immediately see parts of the video.
For example, you want to see something in the discussion that you need you can go straight to the discussion. Before this feature existed, of course you would have difficulty seeing parts of the video. With this Timestamps feature, you can immediately open the part you want to know from the video section. Here, for example, we add the display and screen, there is build quality performance, and battery. If you want to see sample photos, for example, you can go directly to the sample photo section.
4. List of Timestamps
Then the fourth feature is the List of Timestamps. To access this feature, you can directly access one of the sub-topic titles that are already in the video. For example, here we choose Build Quality & Design, you just have to tap on the title of Build Quality & Design. Here is also an initial screenshot of the subtopic of the video. It’s like little thumbnails for parts of the video. For the third and fourth features, of course, it will depend on the Creator who provides this list of Timestamps.
Sample of Timestamps in Description & How to Access
So, if your favorite Creator has added Timestamps in the video description, you can access them from this Timestamps and you can also directly access them in the video section. For videos on this channel in the future, we will immediately add Timestamps to make it easier for you to navigate the parts of the video subtopic, especially for videos that have sub-topics in the video. For example, in this video we have also added the Timestamps. You can also immediately see examples of the Timestamps in the video that you are watching right now.
