In this article we will see the latest update of One UI 3.1 on the S20+. In this article we will check whether the features in the S20 Series for One UI 3.1 are the same as in S21 Series. And even if there are differences, we will check what is not available in the S20 Series for this One UI 3.1 version. Okay, now let’s just see what features are available in One UI 3.1 on this S20+.
1. No New Call Background
For the first feature, the addition of a background in the Call Background section is not available in the S20 Series. So far this background feature is only available in the S21+ Series.
2. AR Emoji Sticker Update
Then for the second One UI 3.1 feature is AR Emoji. For the AR Emoji feature, we can get it in the camera menu, then we can see it in the “more” section and here we can select the AR Zone. Here we choose the newest AR Emoji Sticker in One UI 3.1. After getting the latest One UI 3.1 update on the S20+ version, now the AR Emoji settings are the same as in S21+. So, the setting menus and menu choices are now the same after the One UI 3.1 updated on the S20+.
3. New Name for Blue Light Filter
Then, the Blue Light Filter setting has been changed on the S20 + in One UI 3.1. The Blue Light Filter settings now both change to Eye Comfort Shield. The third feature is the same for these two series.
4. Continue App on Other Devices
Then for the Continue App on Other Devices feature, we will see if it is available in the S20+ Series. The feature is in the Advanced Features section and here you can see the Continue App on Other Devices feature for the S20+ Series. So, you can immediately use Samsung Internet and Samsung Note to switch applications for these two Smartphones.
For example, here we are not using Samsung Note on the S21+ Series and we are typing a few sentences and we want to continue with other Samsung smartphone series. At the bottom of the menu you can immediately see the words “From your phone” which indicates an application is being used on another smartphone. We just have to tap this part and now we can immediately open the Samsung Note which is the same as the version we open on another smartphone.
5. Video Call Effects
Furthermore, in the Advanced Features section, there is a new menu called Video Call Effects. Here, on One UI 3.1 in the S21+ series there is a Video Call Effects feature, while the S20 + does not appear to have this feature. So, unfortunately the Video Call Effects feature is not available in the S20+ Series.

Then the Remove Location Data feature when you share photos in the Gallery. For the Remove Location Data feature, which is already available on S21+, unfortunately it is also not available in the One UI 3.1 version on the S20+. Unfortunately, the Google Discover feature, which is available in the One UI 3.1 version on the S21+, is not available in the One UI 3.1 version on the S20+. Here you can only activate Samsung Free. For the One UI version 3.1 on S21+, you can use Google Discover on the Home Screen.

11. New Layout on Camera Setting
Furthermore, the feature to change the resolution and RPS directly on the outside of this camera, you can also immediately enjoy it in One UI 3.1 on the S20+. Here you can immediately change the resolution from outside without needing to enter the camera settings again. The menu options are also quite the same, only you can see that there is Full HD Auto in One UI 3.1 on the S21+.
12. No Director’s View
Then, for the Director’s View feature, we will see in the S20+ version whether or not it has the Director’s View feature. Unfortunately, even though the S20+ has received the One UI 3.1 update, the Director’s View feature is not yet present in the S20+ Series. Let’s just wait if the Director’s View feature will be available only with the camera software update on the S20+ or it doesn’t support the S20+ series. Hopefully in the future, if it’s really support, you can get the Director’s View feature update and you can update the camera application to get this latest feature.
13. New Object Eraser Feature
Next, we check the Object Eraser feature in the One UI 3.1 version on the S20+. Here on S20+ we check Options in the top right corner menu in the Labs menu, here also get an Object Eraser update on the S20+ version. So, you can immediately delete objects in the photo automatically with this feature. So, the S20+ will also get this feature immediately after the One UI 3.1 updated. For the S21+ version, the menu choices are Natural and Bright, while One UI 3.1 on the S20+ is still the same as the previous version, there are Cool, Original and Warm. Later we will also check whether there will be an update to the camera application to get these different features.
