In this article, we will see the latest features in One UI 3.0 update on the Samsung Galaxy A51. For comparison, here we will compare the latest features with Samsung Galaxy S20+ and S21+.
In this article, the S20+ still uses One UI 3.0 and hasn’t been updated to the latest One UI 3.1 version. While the S21+ here already uses the latest One UI 3.1 and we will make features comparison.
Okay Now let’s just see what the new features are on this Samsung Galaxy A51.
1. Notification Panel
The first feature obtained on the Samsung Galaxy A51 after getting an update to One UI 3.0 is the new notification panel display. This new notification panel display is of course found in A51 Series. The appearance is exactly the same on these three smartphones.
2. Fingerprint Icon
Then, the second new feature on the Samsung Galaxy A51 is the new fingerprint icon display. On the Samsung Galaxy A51, now you can also get a new fingerprint icon on the lock screen. The icon has now changed and different from the previous version of One UI 2.5.
The appearance is exactly the same as in A20+ Series and also in the S21+ Series. The position of the fingerprint icon in A51 Series is indeed a little lower because the hardware position for the fingerprint scanner in the A51 Series is indeed a little lower when we compare it to the S20 and S21+ Series.
3. Widget on Lockscreen
Then the latest feature on the Samsung A51 is the display widget on the lockscreen. When you press on the clock on the lockscreen, widgets like this will appear. When you tap the clock in One UI 3.0, now there will be widgets like this on the lockscreen. Widget appearance looks exactly the same as in S20+ Series.
4. New Feature in Media Control
Then the next feature is the addition of features in the media control section of the notification panel. The display of media controls in One UI 3.0 on the Samsung A51 looks different compared to the previous version of One UI 2.5. In the One UI 3.0 update on Samsung A51, you can also go directly to the media section directly from this control media. The appearance also looks exactly the same as in the S20 and S21+ Series.
5. Double Tap to Lock
Then the next latest feature found on the Samsung A51 is Double tap to lock. You can activate this feature in the Advanced features section then activate Motion and gesture and select Double tap to lock the screen. This feature is the same as in the S20 and S21+ Series. So, with this feature you can immediately double tap on the homescreen to lock the smartphone screen.
6. Bubble Notification & News Smart Pop-up View
Then the next new feature is Bubble notification and News smart pop-up view. In the latest One UI 3.0 update on the Samsung A51, the Bubble notification and News smart pop-up view settings are also available in the settings.
For options there are also options for Brief notification and Detailed notification. For Edge lighting options, you can activate it in the Brief notification section only in the one UI 3.0 version. For the Edge lighting options, you can see here on the S20 and S21+ there are many other additional options. As for the Edge lighting menu on the A51 only has a few, different from the S Series. In One UI 3.0, if you select Detailed view for the notification, you cannot activate the Edge lighting notification.
7. Dynamic Wallpaper Category
Then the next new feature is the New dynamic wallpaper category. In the 7th newest feature on the A51, you can activate it in the Wallpaper settings and select Wallpaper services. Here you can immediately buy and choose wallpapers with new themes or categories in the One UI 3.0 update. Here you can also directly select five categories at once, the same as in the S20 and S21+ Series.
8. Wallpaper Interactive Preview
Then the next latest feature is the interactive wallpaper preview. The Samsung A51 also gets an interactive wallpaper preview in the latest One UI 3.0. You can tap on the icon at the bottom right then you can immediately see the full screen wallpaper before you apply the wallpaper. This feature is the same as in the S20 and S21 Series.
9. Trash Feature in Messaging
Then the next feature is the Trash feature in the messaging application. In the messaging application now the One UI 3.0 update gets the Trash feature on the Samsung Galaxy A51. This feature will store messages that you delete and will enter Trash for the next 30 days.
10. Merge or Remove Contacts
In the latest One UI 3.0 update on the A51, you can also directly merge or remove contacts more easily in the contacts application. If there are double contacts on your phone, you can immediately merge this contact and select it based on name, email, or phone number.
11. Call Background Option
Next is the Call background option feature. In the Call background option, in the contact settings, you can select the settings then select the Call background option in the latest Call background view. Now you can choose a full layout as well as a smaller one. Then here you can also choose the background according to your own photo or video.
The video must be no more than 15 seconds and under 100MB. The background options are exactly the same as in the A20+ Series, which is still One UI 3.0, which only gets one background choice.
12. No Exposure Lock
Then the One UI 3.0 in A51 also gets a new look in the camera application. On the A51, the display when you focus on the camera doesn’t get the exposure lock feature like in the S20 Series. So, you don’t get this padlock image in the A51 Series. However, the brightness setting method is exactly the same as in the S Series, which you can immediately set at the focus point that you press.
13. Rivert Edited Photo
Then for the Rivert edited photo feature, the 13th is also in the A51 Series. So, when you have edited a certain photo in the Gallery, you can return it to the previous settings on the A51 after updating to One UI 3.0. The settings are the same as in the S20 and S21+ series.
14. New Settings View
Then in the smartphone settings section, now the smartphone settings display is also visible with a new look. The appearance exactly the same as in the S20 Series with a cleaner and simpler appearance. At the top of the settings there is also an icon with the name and email in this version of One UI 3.0.
As for the display settings, now the icon looks a little different compared to the previous version of One UI 2.5. The icon looks smaller and the sub-topic section is also visible in this external setting.
15. No High-Performance Feature
Then the High performance feature on the A51, of course, doesn’t support this feature. So, for this High performance feature, it is usually only in the top series such as in the S Series and Note Series only.
16. New Wi-Fi View
Then, the 16 new Wi-Fi display features also look exactly the same in the A51 and S Series.
17. Care Report
The Device Care report has also been updated to a new look on the A51. It looks the same as in the S Series.
18. Screen Recorder
In this newest update you will also see a new Screen recorder option. The difference in this update is in the Screen Recorder settings section, there is now a new feature that can record without bringing up the Navigation bar in One UI 3.0. You can immediately activate this setting while recording, then the Navigation bar will immediately disappear.
19. Notification History Option
Then the next new feature on the A51 also gets a new Notification history option. This feature is as the default for Android 11. You can find the settings in the settings then select the Notification. Then here you can select the Advanced settings and select the Notification history. You can immediately activate this setting and later you will immediately see a list of notifications that appear in this section.
Previously, you could only activate this feature in Good Lock for Samsung smartphones, but now in the One UI 3.0 version this feature is already available as the default and now you can immediately activate it in the Notification history section.
20. Brief Notification Option
Then the next new feature, the Brief notification option, is also available in the A51 Series after updating to One UI 3.0. You can find the Brief notification settings in the settings and you can immediately select the Brief notification option on the left. By selecting Brief notification, you can set the Edge lighting notification. Meanwhile, if you turn on Detailed notification, you can’t adjust the Edge lighting feature.
21. Home Screen Widget
Then for the 21st addition is the addition of a widget directly from the icon on the homescreen. To do this, you can immediately tap and long press on the icon and the widget options will appear immediately. You can immediately add widgets on the home screen on the Samsung A51 which has been updated to One UI 3.0. For this feature, the same as in the S series.
22. Recent Apps
Then the next new feature is the change in the Recent app section. Now the Recent app appearance is a little different in this One UI 3.0 update. Now you can immediately swipe slowly and if you want to be fast you can also immediately swipe quickly like this. So, the animation looks smoother in this One UI 3.0 update compared to the previous version. It looks the same as in the S20 and S21 Series.
23. Volume Position
Then the 23rd new feature is the position when you are adjusting the volume which is moved to the right. Previously, the position of this volume button was at the top, and now in the latest update, One UI 3.0 has moved to the right. The interface now looks cleaner and there is also transparency in One UI 3.0.
24. Bixby Routines
Then the 24th feature is an additional setting in the Bixby Routines section. In One UI 3.0 in the A51 Series, now Bixby Routines also looks more different than the previous version. You can see that there are some additional suggested routines in Bixby Routines.
To add routines, you can go to Add routines section and the routines you added are on the far right. For the bixby routine display in the A51 Series, it looks exactly the same as in the S20+ series and also in the S21+ series.
25. Video Enhancer
Then the 25th feature is Video enhancer in certain applications. Unfortunately, the 25th feature is not available in the A51 Series. While the features are already in the S20 series which still uses One UI 3.0 and on the S21+ which uses One UI 3.1.
